报告人简介:Dr. Zixue Cheng got his Master and Doctor Degrees in Engineering from the Tohoku University, Japan, in 1990 and 1993, respectively. He joined the University of Aizu in April 1993 as an assistant professor, became associate professor in 1999, and has been a full professor since 2002. His interests are design and implementation of protocols, distributed algorithms, distance education, ubiquitous computing, ubiquitous learning, embedded systems, functional safety, Internet of Things (IoT), and wearable transparent computing. He served as the director of University-business innovation center during April 2006- March 2010, and has been the head of the Division of Computer Engineering, University of Aizu, since April 2010.
报告简介:Cloud Computing (CC) is one the most hot topics in recent years. By cloud technology, IT resources can be used and managed in a scalable and measurable manner, and new business models can be created based on Cloud. Users can be convenient to use the resources in application, platform, and infrastructure level, through SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS manner.
Transparent Computing (TC) is proposed by Prof. Yaoxue Zhang, an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as a new computing paradigm. TC separates the computing and storage, and provides OS as a Service.
In this talk, we will give the basic architecture of CC and TC, and show the similarity and differences between the two. We will also show how TC is important as a new type of OS for Cloud. In addition, we will mention the CC and TC can build the foundation for development of Internet of Things, and for various fields of applications. Especially, we will show a platform of wearable computing called Magic Ring, by which various applications can be built.
